What Do I Wear To My Senior Pictures? 4 Outfits For Senior Sessions { Jefferson City | Rolla MO Photographer }

blog, lists, photoshoot prep, senior photos

The clothes you wear for your senior session really set the tone for the whole photoshoot.

Let's go over the most important outfits for the session!

1. Cap and Gown

Nothing says "I graduated!" quite like your cap and gown, so let's take some of the basic senior pictures for mom and dad (yeah, I know). We can incorporate your cap in other settings too, so we don't have to go crazy with it... unless you want to! Besides, where else are you going to wear that gown again?

2. A Favorite Outfit

Let's refer to this as "ol' trusty." This is your go-to outfit* that makes you feel good every day. Feel good, look good, as the old addage says! These are your laid back photos you don't need to go overboard for, so let's not go buy brand new... just yet. You want to look nice, but you still want to look like you!

*Try to avoid large logos that could be distracting in your pictures.

3. Something Full of Personality

This is your chance to put on your FFA jacket, rodeo association shirt, cheerleading or dance outfit, football or band uniform, vintage band tee handed down to you... whatever you're into that expresses YOU! Grab your show steer or lamb if this is your last year in 4-H or your ol' dog who's been your bestie since 3rd grade. Let's do it all!

4. Dress Up!

This is where we get that sparkly outfit (or not, if that's not your thing). If you want to wear a formal gown or a suit, go for it. If dressing up means a nice new Cinch snap up on your "good" hat or jeans and a nice blazer with your biggest squash blossom necklace, this is your time to shine however that looks to you! (Personally fancy clothes in cow pastures or with old trucks are my favorite ones to take!)

Hopefully this list will give you a good idea of how to prepare for your senior session. Just remember, this photoshoot is for YOU. You get to decide what you want to do ultimately. Congratulations on your upcoming graduation!
